Where are we staying?

Affordable for the Olypmics, outrageous by everyday standards

A lot of people have asked where we are staying during the Games. Good question. A majority of the Olympic accomodations did not start taking reservations until a year ago in February 2009. That gave us more time to research the plethora of options online. So, after much trolling through dozens of websites, we came across some nice people from Vancouver who had availability at their one-bedroom condo in Whistler. A nice place at the base of the Blackcomb side of the mountain. Best of all, it was afforable (by Olympic standards) and they were willing to rent it for 5 nights, while most others required occupancy during one week or all of the Games. We jumped on it and by mid-March we were set...Olympic tickets, a place to stay, and an empty bank account.

Aspens on Blackcomb--it sounds swanky, but the pictures look like your typical ski area condo. The girls are looking forward to the 3 outdoor hot tubs, though.
